Net SD card

Privacy policy

Effective 2026-10-18. This policy covers the Net SD card Android app (com.faux.netsd), made by Paul Reioux (faux123). Contact: reioux@gmail.com.

What stays on your device

  • The address of your computer, the shared folder's name, and the user name and password you enter. The password is encrypted with the Android Keystore. Net SD card sends them only to your own computer, to sign in to the shared folder.
  • Your game list, the games it downloads, and your save files. Games and saves move only between your device and your own computer.
  • The app's log. It never leaves your device unless you tap Send a bug report, which opens Android's share sheet so you choose where it goes. Your password and license details are removed from it first.

What the app sends to its license server

To run the free trial and Pro, the app talks to the developer's license server at kep.canonspike.com. It sends:

  • A device code: a one-way hash of your device's Android ID, so a trial and a purchase stay tied to your devices. The hash cannot be turned back into the ID.
  • The app's signing certificate hash, to tell the real app from a modified copy.
  • When you buy Pro, the Google Play purchase token, so the server can ask Google Play to confirm the purchase.

Like any web server, it also receives your IP address with each request. The server keeps the device code, the purchase record, and the times your device checked in, for as long as your trial or Pro license exists. It does not receive your name, email, contacts, location, or anything about your games or files.

Payments

Google Play handles payment. The developer never sees your card or payment details. Google's privacy policy covers that part: policies.google.com/privacy.

What Net SD card never does

  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no selling or sharing of data with anyone.
  • No account to create.

Permissions

All files access lets Net SD card put downloaded games where your emulators and game launchers read them, and copy your emulators' save files back to your computer. It is used only for those folders. Notifications show download and save-sync progress.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your device. To delete the license server's records for your device or purchase, email reioux@gmail.com and they are deleted within 30 days.
